Canyon d'Eau Chaude
Unique in Europe! Route through natural hot-water pools at 30–40°C. Water slides and rappels.
The cold canyons sleep until June. Not the one at Thuès: its hot springs keep it between 30 and 40 °C, even when snow falls on the Canigó. And underground, the season makes no difference.

Three activities don't know winter: the hot-water canyon, caving and via ferrata. The classic canyons and climbing return in spring.

The Thuès-entre-Valls hot-water canyon is a geological curiosity: the Têt is fed here by hydrothermal springs, and the pools range from 30 to 40 °C depending on the season. You descend six abseils, the last one 40 m, moving from one warm bath to the next.
Underground, the Villefranche-de-Conflent caves stay around 14 °C all year: in winter, it's almost milder than outside. The En Gorner discovery trip is from age 7; the longer trips, up to 6 hours, from age 14.
During the Christmas and February school holidays, book at least 48 hours ahead: the guide prepares equipment in your size.
You step out of 35 °C water into winter air: bring a hat and warm, dry clothes for the walk back to the car.
The wetsuit and shoes are provided, and at 14 °C the wetsuit is enough, with no layer underneath. Just bring a change of clothes for the way back.
The guide decides: if conditions don't allow a safe outing, it's cancelled and you get a full refund.
