La Pitchona — 'the small one' in Catalan — is the beginner via ferrata of Saint-Paul de Fenouillet. The route ascends gently on the warm limestone of the Fenouillèdes: clear holds, regular rungs and manageable exposed sections. The perfect confidence-builder for a first via ferrata, whether with family or friends.
The route chains a progressive climb, a panoramic traverse and a small monkey bridge for the thrill, without ever becoming committing. The descent follows a marked path, with a plunging view over the village and the Agly vineyards. From start to finish, sections are secured and adapted for beginners.
