The Pyrénées-Orientales harbours an exceptionally rich underground network, shaped over millions of years by water through Mediterranean limestone. The Grotte d'En Gorner, in Villefranche-de-Conflent, is one of the most beautiful in the region: its ancient formations, underground rivers and spectacular chambers make it an ideal exploration ground for all levels.
Outdoor 66 offers nine caving circuits led by a state-certified professional guide (BEMF). Each outing is adapted to the group's level: discovery circuits are suitable for children from age 7 and adults with no prior experience, while sporting routes cater to those wishing to develop vertical techniques or explore more challenging cave systems. All technical equipment (helmet, headlamp, oversuit) is fully provided.
Caving is an activity that can be practised year-round, as cave temperatures remain constant at around 14 °C. It is an ideal discipline for very hot summer days or spring and autumn weekends. No prior experience is required, making it a perfect way to discover a silent, mineral world unlike everyday life.
