The terrain.

The Gourg des Anelles descends the foothills of the Albères massif through a cork oak forest before plunging into a smooth-walled gneiss gorge. The hour-and-a-half descent is relentless: a slide, committed jumps up to 12 m, and 10 rappels including a breathtaking 25 m.

This is the canyon to recommend for those who have already done a few descents and want to push to the next level. The 20-minute forest approach hike is part of the adventure.
