Everything you need to know before your first session.
Yes, booking at least 48 hours in advance is recommended so we can prepare equipment fitted to your height and weight. All bookings are made directly on the site.
Canyoning is accessible from age 7 for introductory routes. Via ferrata from age 8 (minimum height 1.30 m). Caving from age 7. All levels are supervised by a state-certified instructor.
The photos and videos from your outing are sent to you for free via a link by email after the activity.
The weather is monitored constantly. The guide decides: if conditions don't allow a safe outing, it is cancelled and you are refunded in full. You are told as early as possible.
Yes, all technical equipment is provided and checked before each session: wetsuits, helmets, harnesses, descenders, lanyards… You only need to bring your personal belongings.
All activities are supervised by a state-certified instructor (BPJEPS or DE). Groups are limited in size to ensure safety and quality of supervision.
Yes, it's essential. You must be able to swim and be comfortable in natural water to go canyoning. You don't need to be an expert swimmer, but basic ease in water is required.
No! No jump is compulsory. There is always the option to go around or be lowered by rappel by the instructor. You choose what you want to do.
Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and a pair of closed sports shoes that can get wet. All technical equipment is provided (5mm wetsuit, helmet, harness, water shoes).
A good general level of fitness is sufficient. The routes are adapted to all levels. However, there is hiking, rappelling and water sections — good mobility is necessary.
The routes offered are adapted to your level. Rappels range from a few metres to about twenty metres depending on the canyon chosen. The guide explains and secures you on each rappel.
If it rains lightly, the activity continues — we're already wet! In the event of a storm or flooding, the activity is immediately cancelled or postponed. Water levels are checked before each session.
Fear of heights can be a concern, but many participants overcome it easily with the guide's encouragement. The first routes allow you to test your reaction to heights progressively.
Wear hiking boots with gripped soles (required), comfortable clothing and a small snack. Helmet, harness and via ferrata kit are provided.
Via ferrata requires arm and leg endurance. Good general physical fitness is recommended. Expect several hours of moderate effort on the route.
The minimum height is 1.30 m to ensure the harness fits correctly. The maximum weight is 120 kg for safety reasons related to the equipment.
Routes are classified from F (easy) to ED (extremely difficult). We offer outings adapted to all levels, from the beginner discovering via ferrata to the experienced practitioner seeking a challenge.
Outings are planned early in the morning or late in the day to avoid the hottest hours. In summer, good hydration is essential — plan for a minimum of 1.5 L of water.
Mild claustrophobia is not necessarily a barrier. The guide adapts the route and advances at your pace. If you have serious doubts, use the contact form before booking so we can advise you on the most suitable route.
Wear clothing that can get dirty, under the coverall provided, and bring a change of clothes. Shoes and all technical equipment (helmet, headlamp, harness) are provided.
The caves are at about 14 °C year-round. It can feel cooler when it's humid, but the coverall provided is enough: no extra layer needed.
Supervised caving is a safe activity. The guide chooses passages adapted to the group and checks equipment before each session. As with any outdoor activity, following instructions is essential.
A reasonable level of fitness is sufficient for introductory routes. Some passages require crawling, sliding or climbing. The guide adapts the pace and passages to the group.
Yes, from age 7 for introductory routes. Children generally love underground exploration. The guide ensures that passages are adapted to each child's height and mobility.
No. The Beginner route (Casteil) is designed for complete beginners from age 7 — no experience required. For Intermediate and Advanced levels, a minimum of grade 5+ climbing autonomy is needed.
Hiking shoes for the approach, comfortable clothes that allow free movement, and water. Harness, helmet, climbing shoes and rope are all provided by the guide.
The shoes provided are fitted to be precise without being painful. For children and beginners, comfort is prioritised. If you have your own climbing shoes, you're welcome to bring them.
On beginner routes, all climbs are top-roped: the rope runs through a fixed anchor at the top, so you are continuously protected. A fall is not possible. On the multi-pitch route, the guide manages safety on every pitch.
A reasonable general fitness is enough for the beginner session. Climbing mainly uses legs, arms and concentration. For the Vingrau multi-pitch (Advanced), muscular endurance over 4 hours is needed.
The season runs from March to November on the Corbières sites (Tautavel, Vingrau). Casteil, at altitude, is accessible from April to October. In summer, sessions start early in the morning to avoid rock heat.
